Pickleball Paddles
Pickleball is becoming more widely recognized and you’ll find there are pickleball courts in many locations. Grab a few paddles and you have a great way to exercise and play with new friends you meet!
-

Stand-Up Paddle Board
Living on the water gives you easy opportunities to go out for a paddle and explore an area. I have one that came with a seat attachment and paddle modifier so that I can use it as a Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) or like a sitting kayak. It comes with a bag that I can pack it down into.

Folding Scooter
Transportation! Once we’re anchored or docked, we walk just about everywhere, but sometimes, having a scooter or bike makes it a little easier to go a further distance. This folding scooter is big enough for adults and doesn’t have the added bulk and weight of the battery pack. Use it for grocery runs or just for fun!
-

Electric Scooter
Not keen on traveling under your own power? Finding an electric scooter that stows easily and gets you around can be really convenient for those longer trips from the marina.
-
Kids Waterproof Camera
If snorkeling with the kids is on your Great Loop bucket list, having a waterproof camera for them to take underwater shots could be a fun way to capture memories. I haven’t used this particular model, so check the reviews to see if it’s right for you!
-
Squirt Guns
Are squirt guns practical on the boat? Absolutely not. But they are a fun way to cool off and play together as a family. Make sure you have enough for everyone in the crew!
-
Lily Pad Floating Mat
This is a little too cumbersome for our boat (so we’ve never used one), but larger powerboats can easily roll up this mat to keep it out of the way. This floating island is fun to play in the water when on anchor!
-
Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Take your music with you! Whether sunning yourself on the bow of your boat, listening to your favorite tunes, or on a remote island in the Bahamas, having a Bluetooth speaker is a must for music lovers. We also use our Bluetooth speaker when we watch movies to give us better sound quality.

Rechargeable Headlamp
Headlamps come in handy in all sorts of circumstances! Hand-free light is useful whether working on the engine or navigating at night.
-

Bright Flashlight
1000 lumens comes in handy when you're out on the water and trying to see something out on the water. This little light packs a bright punch!
-

Outdoor Lights
We use these lights in our cockpit. The solar charger on the primary puck keeps them charged. The lights make it easier to spot our cockpit if we dinghy back in the dark, and they light up the space just right when we're hanging out in the cockpit after sunset.

Portable First Aid Kit
Bumps and bruises happen when you’re out playing hard. Having at least bandaids along for the adventure is good for families, but having the basics of a first aid kit is even better.
Find or assemble a portable first aid kit with bandaids, triple antibiotic creme, alcohol wipes, and powdered children’s Tylenol.
This way, you’re ready for basic scrapes, even if you can’t return to the boat for a few hours.

Sunglasses
Get multiple pairs. They will get lost, scratched, or misplaced. Have a few pairs for each person so you are always ready, especially out on the water when the sun reflects off the waves.
-
Cooling Towels
These low-tech cooling towels are easy to use: get them wet, wring them out, and drape them around your neck. We frequently use them to help us stay cool while walking around new towns on hot days.
-
Electrolyte Drink Mixes
We love adding drink powders to our water, especially if we’ve been hiking or sweating. These packets can also help you convince your kids to get some water into their system on a hot day!
